There’s still time to take part in a public consultation on the review of Hounslow Council’s gambling policy and we’re keen to hear from as many people as possible. Residents, licence holders, schools, other public authorities and stakeholders both in Hounslow and neighbouring boroughs have until 27 September to submit their views to the Council. Under the Gambling Act 2005, local authorities are responsible for the licensing of gambling premises such as betting shops, family entertainment centres, adult entertainment centre etc in England and Wales. This includes the issuing of licences for premises.
The Act has three licensing objectives: preventing gambling from being a source of crime or disorder, being associated with crime or disorder or being used to support crime; ensure that gambling is conducted in a fair and open way; protecting children and other vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling.
To have your say on the consultation please visit the website or firstname.lastname@example.org for a paper copy.
