Invitation to London Councils’ Science Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM) conference, on 27th November 10am – 3.30pm at the Wellcome Collection, 183 Euston Road, London NW1 2BE
London faces a substantial skills shortage in a range of STEM industries, including computing, life sciences and engineering. Given the anticipated challenges facing London there is a significant need to address the capital’s future skills challenges in STEM industries, specifically inspiring and engaging more young Londoners into these careers.
This conference will enable business and education leaders to discuss the opportunities that already exist, find new ways of collaboration. Delegates will be able to hear from a range of exciting speakers from the world of STEM and business. There will also be an opportunity for business leaders and senior London local government representatives to network, exploring innovative local ideas for young people to cultivate an interest in STEM careers.
The Leaders of Westminster and Greenwich Councils will be chairing the session and speakers include senior representatives from AsterZeneca, HS2 Ltd and Land Securities, plus key organisations directly delivering STEM educational activities.
