114 Hounslow residents attended a Shared Ownership One Stop event on Saturday 24 January at the Civic Centre.
The invitees, who had registered an interest in the increasingly popular part rent, part buy housing option, had the opportunity to find out about the council’s shared ownership properties from the marketing staff and speak to financial and legal advisors at the same time.
The council currently has a range of flats and houses available throughout the borough, ranging in size from two to four six bedroomed. These are the latest homes to become available through the council’s fast-expanding affordable housing programme. In the course of the event, some 101 families signed up to view the properties and move onto the next stages.
Councillor Steve Curran, Leader of Hounslow Council, commented: “With London house prices rocketing, shared ownership provides an ideal option for many who would otherwise be unable to afford to buy. Over the next four years we’ll be delivering some 3,000 new affordable homes, many of which will be part rent, part buy, so I was delighted we’ve been able to get the ball rolling for so many residents.”
The one-stop event was organised in partnership between Hounslow Council and sales and marketing agents Red Loft.
