With citizenship and nationality services starting to take place this week at The Lodge, Feltham, Hounslow’s registrars are settling into their new home.
The Register Office’s move from the current building next door to the Civic Centre in Lampton Road, is being staggered over the next few weeks until all services are moved to the historic building which dates back to the 1800s in Harlington Road West.
All citizenship and nationality services are now taking place at The Lodge, with the registration service for births, deaths and marriages moving over from Monday 23 May.
All services will mover over completely by Tuesday 31 May, with marriage ceremonies stating to take place at The Lodge from Wednesday 1 June.
The picturesque setting of The Lodge with its magnificent gardens will provide a spectacular backdrop to residents getting married, having a civil partnership and reaffirmation ceremonies.
While The Lodge has undergone months of refurbishment, it will be retaining many of the Victorian features, will boast larger rooms and also be able to cater for the more intimate services the Register caters for, with a choice of three different reception rooms.
Susan Hayter, Head of Registration and Nationality Services, said: “We’re delighted to be a part of this exciting time in the history of Hounslow Council’s Registration and Nationality Service.
“Registration is the cornerstone of our society and all of us, at some time in our lives has the need to visit our service. Moving to The Lodge will enable us to expand the service and offer more choices to our residents and customers.”
