The deadline for parents and carers of children across Hounslow to apply for a place at one of the borough’s secondary schools ends today, Monday 31 October.
Applications for secondary schools for September 2017 must be submitted by the end of today. The deadline applies to secondary places for September 2017. (children born between 1 Sept 2005 and 31 Aug 2006).
Parents or guardians should note that applications received after the deadline will be considered as late. Applying later does reduce the chance of gaining a place at the preferred choice of school. Late applications will only be processed after on-time applications.
Missing the deadline increases the risk of a child not being offered a place at one of the preferred schools of choice – even if there is already a sibling at that school.

For primary schools, the deadline for applications for September 2017 is by the end of Sunday 15 January 2017. The deadline applies to primary places for September 2017 (children born between 1 September 2012 and 31 August 2013).
Councillor Tom Bruce, Cabinet Member for Education and Children’s Services, Hounslow Council, said: “Last year we moved the application process completely online and it was a great success. I know many parents found it much easier and quicker, therefore enabling them to apply in time of the deadline.
“If any parent or carer has not yet submitted their application, then do so before the deadline and ensure you have the best chance possible in acquiring the school of your choice for your child.
“We’re committed to supporting all our children in getting the best education possible and the best start in life, this includes providing the services that can help provide that.”
