Hot on the heels of the opening of Heston Pools & Fitness earlier this year, is another gem for Hounslow in the form of Heston Park.
The park, in New Heston Road, which has undergone over £1m-worth of development was officially re-opened this week by Councillor Nisar Malik, the Mayor of Hounslow.
It boasts a host of outdoor facilities and opportunities to enjoy activities, which includes new sports provision such as pitches, tennis courts and new cricket nets.
For those wanting to explore a bit of wildlife and nature, Heston Park is also the place to go, with of new and improved nature and play areas. There are fitness trails with equipment for all ages.
Pupils from Springwell Junior School, Hounslow were at the launch this week to test out the new equipment and enjoy the facilities in the sunshine.
The park is managed by Carillion on behalf of Hounslow Council and is part of a wider investment for parks and open spaces across the borough.
Councillor Nisar Malik, Mayor of Hounslow, said: “After a year of development and construction, we’re delighted that Heston Park is now re-opened. Hounslow Council has invested over £1m in revamping this site, which we hope will provide residents with a wonderful park for many years to come.
“The new sports and play facilities will complement the major investment at Heston Pools & Fitness, making Heston a destination to enjoy and visit.
“Heston Park redevelopment is part of wider investment in our parks and open spaces. The council will continue to ensure we provide good quality parks and open spaces that will serve the community for generations to come.”
