Hounslow Council has confirmed that it will host the biggest community event of the season at Redlees Park on Sunday 13 September.
The Be Inspired Festival will be a family fun day, featuring big name musical acts, supported by an array of local performers, plus dance and fashion, sports try-outs and demonstrations and a heap of other activities to encourage local people to get active and healthy. Some 10,000 people are expected to attend.
A major focal point for the festival will be the arrival of the Webb Ellis Cup as it makes its way on a 100-day tour through the UK to Twickenham Stadium, before being awarded to the winning team in Rugby World Cup 2015. Festival-goers will be able to get up close and personal with rugby’s most prestigious trophy and enjoy a free day of activity and entertainment.
Leader of Hounslow Council, Councillor Steve Curran, explains: “The Be Inspired Festival will be a great day out for all the family. It will give residents a taste of the excitement of Rugby World Cup 2015 and an opportunity to see and try new activities and enjoy top-class entertainment.”
The council expects to announce the headline act on 14 August.
