With just over six weeks to go before the big day, a glimpse of Christmasarrives in Hounslow from this week with a number of events taking place to start the countdown to the big day.
Kicking off the festive fun is the Winter Nights Carnival in Feltham tonight [Thursday 10 November], which includes performances by the Hounslow Community Brass Band and Hounslow’s Got Talent winner Megan Price.
There’s more fun in Hounslow town centre on Saturday 19 November. A lantern procession from the Blenheim Centre to the Holy Trinity Church takes place and will finish up with winter lights switched on by the Mayor of Hounslow, Councillor Ajmer Grewal.
Christmas also comes to Chiswick, Isleworth, Hanworth and Brentford where there will be festive light displays and an array of activities for all ages to enjoy.
Councillor Steve Curran, Leader of Hounslow Council said: “Christmas is a wonderful time of year and all the town centres in the borough will be very colourful and will have a magical atmosphere.
“There are lots of events taking place and we hope everyone gets the chance to enjoy them as they prepare for Christmas.”
- Feltham – Thursday 10 November – The Piazza, The Centre, Feltham, from 4.40pm. A Winter’s Night Carnival (featuring lantern parade, Megan Price, choirs, brass band, Circus Suburbia’s Glow Poi Show).
- Hounslow – Saturday 19 November – Asda, Blenheim Centre, from 6pm for lantern procession finishing at Bell Square for the Same Sky: Winter Lights performance.
- Chiswick – Thursday 24 November – George IV, Chiswick High Road, from 6pm. Meet the famous Fullers Brewery Shire horses and enjoy a BBQ with mulled wine.
- Isleworth – Saturday 3 December – The Inspiring Isleworth Christmas Market, 3pm to 8pm including the Isleworth Eye big wheel (All Saints Church), ice rink (Lower Sq), Cinderella’s Unicorn drawn carriage (Lower Sq), Snow Globe Santa’s Grotto, children’s funfair rides and choirs.
