Brentford is fast becoming known as west London’s boomtown with the Bees getting the go-ahead to build their new stadium, plus new houses, jobs and the on-going regeneration of the High Street.
And to celebrate the positive outlook there are some open to all public events which will celebrate the opening of the Market Place and Brentford’s riverside attractions.
The new refurbished Market Place features an eye catching water installation, new York stone paving and benches.
Leader of Hounslow Council, Councillor Steve Curran, said: “Brentford is booming and fast becoming one of west London’s best places to live, work and relax by the river.
“The place has definitely got an up and coming, feel-good vibe to it and the opening of the market place is something I – and I hope local residents and businesses are looking forward to.”
“And on top of this, we are battling to bring the Royal Barge, the Gloriana, back to Brentford, its rightful berth.”
The events include an outdoor theatre performance at the new Market Place which was restored thanks to funding by Hounslow Council and the Mayor of London, plus a floating cinema at the Brentford Dock Piazza, which is part of the Mayor of London’s Summer of High Streets’ events.
The official opening of the Market Place on Sunday 28 September will feature a fun event for all the family, including rides, performances, street food and a steel band.
