Small and medium-sized businesses are being encouraged to sign up for a summit and free workshop to help them cash in on the Heathrow Airport supply chain.
The nineteenth annual Heathrow Business Summit, taking place on 10 November at the Park Inn by Radisson, Bath Road, is designed to give smaller businesses the chance to network with companies involved in the airport’s infrastructure.
Businesses are also invited to attend a free two-hour workshop at Spring Grove House, West Thames College, from 5.30pm on Thursday 10 September, designed to give them pointers about how to pitch themselves to industry big-hitters.
Delegates attending the workshop will get the chance to meet representatives from the local chambers of commerce, who will be on hand to offer advice and guidance.
At the summit itself, where registration costs £50 to local businesses, SME’s can book 15-minute appointments with buyers, while a series of seminars, workshops and discussion groups have been billed to take place between 9am and 5.30pm. A lunch and refreshments as well as free parking are also available to delegates.
The two events must be booked in advance.
Councillor Steve Curran, Leader of Hounslow Council said: “We’re proud to be a key partner in this summit as it offers a real helping hand to local businesses that want to be able to capitalise on the enormous business opportunities that Heathrow offers.
“Small and medium-sized businesses are perfectly positioned to take advantage of the numerous procurement opportunities but some need this kind of expert advice to make sure they are tailoring their businesses to meet the specific needs that the airport has.”
