Feltham town centre is a District Centre as defined in the London Plan 2011, serving its largely suburban hinterland of Feltham North, Feltham Village, East Bedfont and Hanworth. Feltham and its adjacent neighbourhoods have a combined population of 65,450.The town is an established local centre that is trading well. It has seen significant investment following the redevelopment of its managed shopping centre (The Centre). The Centre contains over 50 stores and restaurants, including many high street brands and attracts a large number of loyal, local customers. The town also contains a variety of independent convenience stores as well as services such as banks, a library and health centre.
The Leisure West complex offers food, ten pin bowling and a cinema, and attracts many visitors from outside Feltham. There are also a large number of open spaces within close proximity (10 mins walk) of the town centre. And yet Feltham remains an affordable location with a strong community base.
Transport and Road Links
Feltham benefits from a railway station with regular direct services to and from London Waterloo.
The area is also accessed by a number of strategic roads including important east-west routes such as Staines Road (A315) linking to the M25 and to Central London and Great Chertsey Road (A316) providing connection to the M3.
The proximity of Heathrow provides many opportunities for employment in Feltham, and in fact there is more employment in the area than people actually in work.
Hounslow Council is working with local stakeholders to explore strategic options for the future of Feltham Town Centre, including promoting the introduction of new restaurant uses to increase evening town centre activity.
