If you’re looking for a great egg-scape this Easter look no further than Hounslow town centre.
The iconic Treaty Centre has teamed up with the Blenheim Centre, Hounslow Council, Hounslow Arts Trust and businesses in the bustling shopping district to offer you an Easter egg-travaganza filled with fun and prizes.
From Saturday 28 March to Sunday 12 April you could be in with the chance of winning an Easter egg or a shopping voucher, worth up to £10, when you find the hidden eggs dotted around Hounslow town centre.
Pick up an entry form from Treaty Centre shops Toys UK and Wilkinson; from Asda in the Blenheim Centre or from Langfords and WH Smith in the High Street and turn your shopping into spotting. You can also download a form from www.treatyshoppingcentre.co.uk from Friday 27 March.
Once you’ve got your form, visit participating shops in the town centre and look for special eggs displayed in shop windows. Jot down the letter on each egg and unscramble them to spell out a phrase. Once you’ve cracked the anagram, post your completed form in the box near the entrance to Hounslow Library. Winners will be contacted directly after the closing date. Participating retailers include Asda, B&M, Toys UK, Debenhams, Wilkinson, Langfords, Primark and Specsavers.
Councillor Sachin Gupta, cabinet member for public health and leisure, said: “The activities in Hounslow town centre are a great way to keep the kids entertained during the holidays.
“We’re putting the finishing touches to extensive repaving across the area and there’s new street furniture and lighting installed, as well as new trees.
“Whether you’re a shopaholic or a bookworm, head to the town centre and take a fresh look at the borough’s number one shopping destination.”
Janet Leatherland from the Treaty Centre said: “The Treaty Centre is delighted to be working with other town centre businesses and the council for the benefit of all residents and visitors to Hounslow. This will be a fun, family activity for the school holidays and we’ve got some great prizes.
“This is the first time we’ve done something like this and we are already planning similar events for later in the year.”
From 7 to 9 April, you can also head to Hounslow Library, in the Treaty Centre, and enjoy Easter themed activities including under five’s story time and crafts, as well as advice on how to publish a historical novel. See www.hounslow.info for details or drop into the library for more information
