A group of residents, the Osterley Neighbourhood Forum [ONF], have applied to be recognised by Hounslow Council as an organisation to produce a Neighbourhood Plan for their area and to identify a Neighbourhood Plan Area.
Neighbourhood planning allows communities to build on the Hounslow Local Plan and be able to produce policies that guide and shape the development of their area.
In order to prepare a neighbourhood development plan, interested groups must first establish a neighbourhood area to which a future forum would apply.
A nominated neighbourhood forum is an organisation or group which would have the authority to prepare a Neighbourhood Plan in an area.
A group of residents have submitted an application to the council to be recognised formally as a neighbourhood forum and forwarded a plan showing the area to be covered by this plan.
The application to do this in Osterley is now under consultation from today, Tuesday 26 April, and the council has 13 weeks to determine the request, starting with a six-week consultation which closes on Tuesday 7 June.
Both the application and consultation response will be reported to Cabinet and then to the Borough Council meeting on Tuesday 19 July.
